Abstract

The June 2024 edition of the Journal takes a look at the effects of academic performanceand emotional intelligence on good oral health maintenance among adolescent orthodontic patients. The study showed that high academic performance was significantly related to better and favourable oral hygiene outcome. However, emotional intelligence did not show any significant effect on the oral hygiene status of these patients. The study was limited in sample size and more elaborate studies need to be carried out to truly ascertain this relationship
